Why me?

What is it that I have done that can help you? Well, let me explain…

I trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist in London, UK and during that time discovered my dislike for public speaking. With a mixture of sweat, shaking hands and a full body blush, I decided to make a change.

After taking a number of public speaking courses and applying what I learnt I got to the point of enjoying presenting so much so that in 2004 I became a university lecturer.

In 2007 I left and then I served as the Director of PhysioUK, a health education company, until 2017.

I then joined Tunbridge Wells Speakers Club, which is affiliated to Toastmasters International. Through that, I have worked with individuals and groups in making the most of their skills and abilities to help them become better presenters.

I have run public speaking events for adults and school children. In addition, I have entered numerous speech contests (yes there are such things) and in May 2020 I won the Toastmasters UK National Finals for District 91 in impromptu speaking and speech evaluation.

As a result of these experiences, I have discovered than one thing I enjoy more than speaking, is helping others become both better presenters and to give better presentations.

Aside from speaking training, I also love growing vegetables on my two allotments (show off), I also organise a Repair Cafe, a not for profit community enterprise that members of the public brings items to to be repaired by the team of repairers. My wife and I are also very good at losing bees.

If you wanted to read some of the feedback I have received or the speaking awards I have won please scroll down.

Having read all of that what I hope you get is that I have a broad range of experience and recognition for that. I am an outgoing, friendly person that is dedicated to helping and facilitating the best in people. If that is a fit with you then click here to get started and see what’s the best fit for you.

If you have questions then let’s address a few of them here.

What People Have Said…

I highly recommend Chris as a speaking mentor. His energy, enthusiasm and playfulness make the sessions relaxed and enjoyable. And he has an incredible ability to hone in on nuances which have made all the difference to me being able to progress and improve as a speaker.

However, his real talent is in aligning your speaking to your own authentic style, which is the true essence of presenting with confidence and relatability.

Chris was able to help me meet every one of the goals I set myself for the coaching and as a result my confidence has greatly improved, I had several ‘a-ha’ moments and have overcome some obstacles which were blocking me, and I now feel ready and excited to make my next speech.

His mentoring has definitely accelerated me to the next level in my learning. I will definitely be working with Chris again in the future, and for anyone considering working with him, go for it! You won’t regret it.
